The Food Box

The HOPE-Esperanza Food Pantry is dedicated to providing nutritious food to individuals and families in our community. Through partnerships with local organizations and Food Bank for the Heartland, we are able to offer pantry staples, fresh produce, and USDA foods to those in need.

Our food pantry is open:

  • Monday: 10:00-12:30

  • Thursday: 2:00-5:00

Individuals are welcome to stop by for a food box once a week.

Community Share Box

The "Community Share box," found at five different locations across North Platte, Nebraska, functions as a continuous, 24/7 food exchange.

It is designed for ease and anonymity, it allows community members to contribute surplus food, directly supporting individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. This network of accessible boxes promotes local generosity and resource sharing.

Free Community Closet/Furniture Pod

HOPE strives to help meet the basic needs of all of our community members. Our goal is to have no child or family go without the basic necessities.

We accept donations of clothing and basic household items and then repurposes these needed items back out into the community at no charge.

The free community closet and furniture pod are program made possible by the generous donations of our community. This is made possible with great collaboration with RDAP and West Central District Health Department

Employment Platform/Services

HOPE strives to help community members obtain gainful employment.

HOPE works to connect job applicants with local employers who have vacant positions.

This program is made possible through collaboration between HOPE, the Nebraska Department and Labor and local Businesses.

Translation/Interpretation Services

HOPE strives to bridge the gaps in services in the community due to language barriers.

After School With HOPE

The HOPE-Esperanza After-School Program provides children with a safe and supportive place to learn after school. Children meet on Mondays from 3:30–5:00 PM and receive support with reading and schoolwork.

Our program uses DIBS to help identify and strengthen children’s reading skills reading practice, and one-on-one reading tutoring to help children strengthen their reading skills and build confidence.

Take What You Need

A free resource area where community members can take items they need, including toothbrushes, personal hygiene products, baby food, and other available essentials. Take what you need, and help make sure everyone in our community has access to the basics.

Youth Activities

Focusing on our youth because they are the future. Working together with other agencies to provide opportunities and a brighter tomorrow!

HOPE strives to offer two youth activities a month.

*All youth activities are free and open to youth grades K-7 and their families.

This program is made possible through collaboration between HOPE and Lincoln Community Connections Mentoring.

ESL/SSL Classes

HOPE-Esperanza offers English and Spanish classes during the spring and fall. Classes meet once a week for two hours and provide a welcoming environment for community members who want to improve their language skills, build confidence, and connect with others.

Happy and Well

Happy & Well is a space created for women to come together, focus on themselves, and prioritize their physical and emotional well-being. The group meets twice a week and provides an opportunity for women to work out, connect with one another, and take time for themselves.

It’s about creating a supportive community where women can stay active, build connections, and make their well-being a priority.
